  • JinJiang Metropolo Classiq Hotel Shanghai Bund Circle, Nicolas (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
It is extremely well located at a short distance from the Bund and Nanjing Lu, so I would recommend it to those who can't afford staying at the Westin Hotel.

I used to live here. International school teachers from YEW CHUNG international school live here. I found it was a pretty hectic place to live, due to the fact that there were pretty much no other foreigners and you need to have communicable chinese language skills in order to basically do anything. DVD store is pretty cheap here. If it's 'cool' then it is only because of the train station located directly across the road, which is the fastest way to travel in shanghai due to the traffic and lack of transport infrastructure. 2% foreigners (1% Westerners) and 98% chinese. Bar across the road called Danny's Bar is a typical chinese attempt at a western-style bar, but good for quiet drink before you go out to Puxi. The apartments vary in quality but are quite cheap compared to what you might pay. Another notable locatation nearby is the Mag-Lev (magnetic levitation train - fastest train in the world goes 431 km/h).
